Summer Reads - June Books!

Earlier this week, I mentioned that I wanted to start my own summer reading challenge. I've followed through with this, and I thought I'd share with all of you what I'd be reading! For now I'll just post the list for June, but I have all of July's books picked already as well.

What will I be reading this month?

Books for June:
1. The Gatekeepers (320)
2. Perfume: The Story of a Murderer (272)
3. Saving CeeCee Honeycutt (320)
4. Mermaids in the Basement (291)
5. Them Bones (336)
Total Pages: 1,504

Ahhh books! That I get to read! For fun! I'm so excited about this, you don't even know.

I've read The Gatekeepers once before right before I started applying to colleges. I absolutely devoured that book and I was sucked in to all of the details that go into the application process from the student's end of things. Now that I'm almost done with college I'm reading the book again but from a different perspective. I've been thinking about taking a year off before I apply to graduate school, and one of the things that I'm interested in is working in college admissions. Oh hey, that's what this book is about! I'm almost halfway done with it now, and I already have a copy of Perfume from the library waiting for me.

So far, the best part of this mini challenge has been reading lots of book reviews and recommendations from other people. I love going through Amazon or GoodReads and checking out what people like and don't like.

Today's question for you...
What are you reading right now?

Water for Elephants is an AMAZING book! Probably one of my top 5 favorites. I haven't read Girl With a Dragon Tattoo yet, but everyone's been talking about it lately. There are two more after that one, I think.

I've read Perfume! Creepy, but good :) Right now I'm reading a book called "Carnivore Chic" about a woman on a quest to eat meat ethically. It's pretty gruesome, so far she's just worked with butchers.

Oh, and I did some admissions stuff at the university I used to work at (back when I had a job :P ) It's a fun temporary job, pays well, and I loved working on a campus!
